Missions and Objectives
Mission
Promote and represent the interests of Natives (Indians, Inuits and Metis) who live outside the reserves of Quebec.
Objectives
- Contribute to the well-being of off-reserve Natives and to support them in their development and self-esteem efforts.
- Negociate and conclude agreements with the federal and provincial government or other authority (municipal, local or other) to improve the political, economical, social and cultural conditions of off-reserve Natives.
- Develop collaborative agreements with other national and regional native organizations and cooperate with them to facilitate the execution of the rights of off-reserve Natives.
- Inform the off-reserve Natives of the different programs and government services to which they have access.
- Oversee the administration of services and programs destined to off-reserve Natives.
- Make Quebecors and Canadians aware of the realities of off-reserve Natives, their stories, their accomplishments and their contributions to the Canadian society.
